The Visual Identity Concept of Iran Cinema Town (Proposed Plan)

This project has been implemented as a suggested design in our agency. This town has been operating as “Ghazali Cinema Town” in years. This cinema town is founded by the late Ali Hatami in 1980 and the name of Hatami has never been used in this town.

The visual identity design project of the Iran Cinema Town was commissioned by the Broadcasting Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Two etudes were designed and executed in our agency in honor of this cinema legend. The first etud with the name that requested by the Broadcasting Organization and the second etud called “Ali Hatami Cinema Town”.

Iran cinema town is a complex for the production of historical works. Thereby, the Kofi line was used in the design concept. The Kofi line of the building is reminiscent of traditional Iranian architecture, which is directly related to the usage of this town. The use of the Kofi script began in the Seljuk dynasty to decorate the buildings in that era, and most of the noble Iranian structures have used this script.

The design of the visual identity of the Iran Cinema Town has a regular and uniform geometric structure thanks to the use of the Kofi Banai script.

This order has a special appearance in the signs of Persian and English writing. The characteristics of this project include the interaction between literacy and numerology, ease of reading, simplicity and clarity of components, traditional background, logical order and capacity for modernization.

The type and combination of signs and written signs have given a special capacity to this identity so that while having traditional roots, it appears modern and contemporary.

This project was implemented with a very limited number of visual identity items. In the development phases, relying on the strong concept of this project, there is a suitable capacity to design other items.
